February 15, 2013, an International scientific conference «The Supreme Court of Ukraine and Democratic Society: Origins and Prospects» (on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Ukraine) was held. The event was organized by the Project Coordinator of the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation.

      At the conference has been discussed the following issues: the need to further improvement and making comprehensive changes to the judiciary legislation, the judiciary and the status of judges, including increasing the role of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. In the discussion was attended by judges of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, High Specialized Courts and High Courts of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany, Russia, the United States, representatives of the government of Ukraine, international organizations and leading national scholars. The conference was attended by the Editor-in-Chief of the legal journal "Law of Ukraine" O. Sviatotskyi.
