On April 22, 2013 within the walls of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" an International conference on a topic "The Association Agreement Between the EU and Ukraine: Towards Deeper Integration Without Acquisition of Full Membership?" was held. The Conference was initiated by the department of the European Union law named after Jean Monnet.
The conference was dedicated to the analysis of the draft Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union and its role in the further process of European integration of Ukraine. Basically the practical aspects of the impact of association relations on legal order of Ukraine were covered. The issues of influence of the new agreement with Ukraine on bilateral relations of other third post-Soviet countries (Russia, Armenia, Georgia) were brought up.
Participants noted the positive role of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, highlighting possible prospects and factors that may affect the process of signing, ratifying by the parties and subsequent entering into force.
Leading experts from Ukraine, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Georgia took part in the conference. Representatives of the editorial office of journal "Law of Ukraine" were also present at the event.
