The article examines the academic school of the constitutional law at the V. M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of NAS of Ukraine: the process of conception, stagesof formation and development, research capabilities, its high-quality growth. Organizational basis of this school is the modern department of constitutional law and local self-government that has a history of growth and transformation, which are inseparably linked with the history of the Institute. The research examined the strengthening of scientific human resources, the formation of several generations of constitutionalists, their main trends and topics of research, which varied according to the pressing problems of the state and social development. Much attention is paid to the analysis of collective and individual monographs in the article, training highly qualified scientific personnel and certification, research and expert work and lawmaking work of scientists constitutionalists.
