The article is devoted to theoretical and practical issues of the legal status of the Association Agreement in the EU Law. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the concept of an association agreement EU in legal theory, based on the jurisprudence characteristics of the Association Agreement was established. In this light, the Court cases of the EU are analyzed (Schroeder, Brestsiani, Heyheman, Demirel, Pabst, Coos, Anastasiou). The process of co-ordination, signing and entry into force of the Agreement on the basis of the founding treaties and EU practices is analyzed. It was determined that the legal status of the association agreements for Ukraine is of great significance for the future of the signing the agreement with the EU.
