Article title The Factors of Constitutional Process in Modern Ukraine: in Search of Stability and Democratical Progress

Annotation The author takes into account the most recent events in political life and the developments in legal approaches. The article defines the main factors of Constitutional process as follows: establishment of social and legal stability and the creation of conceptual basis for steady democratic development of Ukraine. The author notes that the Constitution of Ukraine is the basis for the Constitutional process. However the Constitution is to be amended. The concept of amending the Constitution accounting for the above mentioned factors is to be directed at the preservation of the unity of Ukraine, the protection of its territorial integrity, restoration of the people’s trust in state government and the consolidation of the power of people. The author explains the urgent need for the Constitutional reform and arrives at the following conclusion: The Constitution is to provide the basis for Ukraine’s system of government as de-centralized unitary state with regional self-government and relevant reformation of the bodies of executive power and local self-government.
