The article researches the issues of the formation and establishment of the state mechanism of constitutional jurisdiction in Ukraine and its components.

The main attention is paid to the problematic issues of the selection of candidates to the office of judges, their appointment, dismissal, and taking oath.

The article also analyses some problematic procedural issues of constitutional petitions and appeals, consideration of specific cases on constitutionality of international agreements.

Attention is given to the issues of possibility of citizen’s appeal to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine with a constitutional complaint.
