Annotation | This article will give a brief overview of the EU-Ukraine DCFTA by focusing on those elements of this trade agreement which are new or unique compared to ‘traditional’ FTAs concluded by the EU. First, the genesis of the EU-Ukraine DCFTA will be briefly introduced. Then, the «deep» and «comprehensive» character of the DCFTA will be explored in order to conclude that the EU-Ukraine DCFTA is the first of a new generation of FTAs concluded by the EU which will, once entered into force, gradually and partially integrate Ukraine into the EU Internal Market, under the condition that Ukraine approximates its legislation to the EU acquis communautaire. |
