The role of visual metaphors, in particular, the metaphor of «perspective»

in contemporary legal science is considered in the article. An assumption, according to

which the visions of law are to a great extent defined by aesthetical preferences making

the «image» of law, is accepted. The metaphor of «perspective» as a way of learning of a

complicated object, in this case — of the law, determines the consequences of such a

vision-understanding. «Perspectivism» is considered as one of the fundamental

approaches to understand the law, while aesthetics of perspectivism — as a basic

aesthetics that defines the methodological basis for understanding the law. Special

attention is paid to the «perspectivists» aesthetics of understanding the law by modern

US legal scholar Pierre Schlag.
