Annotation | The philosophical understanding of human dignity and its legal regulation are discussed in the article. On the basis of the analysis of contemporary scientific literature, international and national regulations and practice it is established that the idea of human dignity should be connected with a value of a person and evaluation of his/her importance and his/her place in society and in the state. This evaluation aspect in the form of moral or legal appreciation is a substantial means of influence on human behavior, on the basis of which the model requirements to a man in a particular situation in a particular matter are formed. These requirements become personal norms of action only if they are supported by internal belief of a person that they are useful, beneficial, and valuable both for oneself and for the other people. Human dignity is considered as a intrinsic value and a social importance of a man that is defined by the existing level of public relations, common vision of freedom, justice, equality and finally acts as a source of rights and freedoms. |
