The article is devoted to problems of rational and emotional in the legal regulation. The trends associated with the emotions in different areas of the legal reality and changes in the standards of reasonable behavior participants of legal relations are identified. The attention is focused on the information society which shifts the idea of the rational limits, the feasibility and effectiveness of regulation, as well as impact on the individual and social consciousness, perception of legal communications.
