The article is devoted to the research of legal and philosophical values of the category «law-understanding». The author gives definition of it and explains its value for jurisprudence and legal reality. The basic elements of such category as «lawunderstanding » — subject, object, features and functions, typology — are established. The main attention is intended to the author’s complex typology of law-understanding based on the multiple-factor analysis of the existing theories. Features of the lawunderstanding development in the Post-Soviet area are considered.
