Annotation | The article presents systematic analysis of problems of Ukrainian legal education to identificate the main areas in which its reform should be implemented. The authors proceeding from the analysis of the current state of Ukrainian legal education, their own experiences and experience of German colleagues, formulate concrete proposals aimed at achieving this goal. The article deals with problems related to the lack of common standards for legal education; imperfection of curricula and their overload with non-legal disciplines; the lack of a practical component in training and the weak orientation of the educational process to European legislation and practice; low level of proficiency in foreign legal languages; using the outdated (Soviet) constructs and theories as a doctrinal basis for educational and scientific literature; the need to update textbooks and legal manuals; the need to improve the procedure for evaluation of knowledge of students and graduates. |
