The scientific article covers the concepts, system and types of principles of copyright of Ukraine. The theoretical approach of the classification of the principles of copyright to special and general by criteria of the sphere of influence on legal relations is considered. The general principles of copyright are the principles of law that apply to all norms and other legal constructions of copyright, and special principles of copyright — to a certain part of these norms and constructions. The author analyzes the principles of freedom of creativity; artistic (aesthetic) neutrality; exclusivity of economic rights; the inalienability of the author’s moral rights; the combination of personal interests of the author with the public interest, the freedom of the author’s contract.
