The importance of the topic selected for this research stems from the crucial role played by trade organizers in the system of subjects of economic and trade relations, and also from insufficient legal regulation and just a fragmentary research in scientific works of their legal status. In particular, issues common to all the types of trade organizers still remain under-investigated: the concept, the main purpose and functions of these subjects of economic and trade relations. The purpose of the article is to make a comprehensive analysis of the statutory and legal regulation of the legal status held by the most common types of trade organizers, and also to clarify their main functions and purpose, to provide a substantiation of the concept “organization of trade”, and to determine the specific features inherent in the legal status of the most common types of trade organizers. The article shows that the forms according to which economic and trade activities are organized are management and regulation of economic and trade activities carried out by the subjects vested with powers to economic activity organization. The author substantiates that organization of trade means creating the appropriate conditions for purchase/sale of property by entering into purchase and sale or delivery contracts through concentration of buyers and sellers (suppliers) in an appropriate place on an appropriate electronic trading marketplace which enables making of purchase/sale transactions within the shortest terms, with minimal expenses and at the best prices. It is also ascertained that trade organizers can be central and local executive authorities and economic entities which create appropriate conditions and opportunities for entering into commercial and trade contracts, for prompt establishment of business contacts between sellers (suppliers) and (or) buyers, for purchase/sale of property at the best prices, and for the development of trade in general. It is established that the main functions of trade organizers are: coordination, regulatory, stabilization, accumulative, operational and informational functions. The article analyzes the specific features of legal status of the most common types of trade organizers (exchanges, markets and fairs).
