Annotation | The purpose of the article is to study the place and role of systematization (streamlining) of legal acts in lawmaking, analysis of the main tasks and principles of systematization, its functions as a way of further development and improvement of domestic legislation. Systematization of legislation, which provides for its rationalization through incorporation, consolidation, codification and other forms. Systematization through improvement of legal acts, formation of internally coordinated, logically constructed system of legislation, reorganization of content of separate normative acts, preparation of the most important laws on the developed concepts basis, as well as formation of conceptual bases for separate branches of legislation are important tasks for lawmaking activity. In the lawmaking process new normative legal acts are contain norms that eliminate existing gaps in the legal regulation of public relations, providing the function of their current legal regulation. Essential changes are also made in the current acts, which eliminate outdated mechanisms, contradictions between certain legal norms. On the one hand, consideration in updating the content of regulations of best practices, provisions of international conventions, developments of domestic and international legal doctrine, as well as the achievements of law enforcement in the form of the highest court legal positions should be considered as important factors. On the other hand – as an integral part of the lawmaking process.
