The article examines the place of the principle of equality of rights and freedoms of man and citizen in the system of principles of constitutional law of Ukraine. Noting from the outset that the principle of equality traces back to the Antique, it is as relevant today as ever before. It describes some aspects of the content of this principle when developing the regime of relations between a person and a citizen with the state and society. The article outlines some current problems of the implementation of this principle in Ukraine, in particular the problem of internally displaced persons and ensuring gender equality. The author gives a brief outline of the most critical problems of discrimination in the above-mentioned areas as well as notes positive steps of the Government of Ukraine on the way to solving the problems of discrimination .
