| Abstract | The article analyzes the struggle of the Ukrainian backgammon for its independence (1917–1921). Special attention is focused on the characteristics of the failures of the UPR and the Central Council, the Ukrainian state under Paul Skoropadsky and Directory for the UPR ZUNR. The characteristic common causes that led to the loss of Ukrainian statehood after World War historical lessons and determined struggle of Ukrainian people for state modern Ukraine. |
