| Annotation | The provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union are analyzed with a view to the determination of legal mechanisms of their efficient and due implementation in the framework of legal system of Ukraine. Comparing with the Cooperation and Partnership Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, 1994 where the basis for legal regulation of cooperation between the EU and Ukraine was embedded in Articles 24–29 (social security and protection), 51 (adaptation of the legislation), and 71 (areas of the enhanced cooperation in social affairs); the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine is much broader in the material scope of legal regulation on the cooperation in social affairs; moreover, the scope of Ukraine’s obligations regarding the adjustment of its national legislation in social issues to the corresponding legal standards of the EU was detailed in Annex ХLI to the Agreement, that is an integral part thereof and form internationally binding legal commitments of the country. |
