n analysis of current state and main directions for further development of Ukraine’s international cooperation in commodities trade is carried out. In this scientific research special attention is given to the international cooperation of Ukraine in trade of grains and sugar — two by far the most important commodities of Ukraine in trade and economic terms. The article in particular focuses on benefits of participation of Ukraine in International Sugar Agreement 1992 and Grains Trade Convention 1995. Moreover, the article describes the nature and origin of problems related to the Ukraine’s membership in International Sugar Organization and International Grains Council and stresses on the necessity of their urgent resolution. Article refers to the trade in coffee, cocoa, tropical timber, natural rubber, nickel and copper as the main possible direction of broadening of cooperation of Ukraine in international commodities trade.
