The article points out some issues of application of legal liability norms for violation of legislation in the sphere of social insurance for temporary disability. It is noted that in the area of social insurance the legal restoration sanctions are mostly used. The author makes a separate analysis of the situation in the sphere of doctors’ responsibility for improperly issued sick leaves; some examples from judicial practice are given. Based on the analysis of the practice of application of legal liability norms for violation of social insurance for temporary disability there were made specific conclusions and proposals on the necessity of establishing a mechanism of implementation of liability norms and specifying the manner of its application to provide social and insurance rights of the insured and rational spending of the Social Insurance Fund.
