The paper contains scientific analysis of proposals to expand the professional rights of defenders-lawyers and representatives in criminal proceedings, guarantees of their professional activities proposed in the draft law «On amendments and additions to the Law of Ukraine “On Advocacy and legal practice”» and CPC of Ukraine prepared by a working group of the Council on Judicial Reform under the President of Ukraine. Expressed proposals to improve the regulation of evidence-based activity of lawyer, lawyer request etc. Critically appraised provisions of the bill on the list of actions of the lawyer considered abuse of the right to lawyer request. Author makes appropriate amendments to the relevant provisions of the CPC of Ukraine and, in Chapter 37 of CPC of Ukraine. Expressed proposal for mandatory presence of members of the Board of Advocates in the region during the detention of a lawyer, the announcement suspect to him. Representatives of the lawyers asked to recognize as member of the criminal proceedings with the definition of its procedural status.
