The study devoted to the analysis of formation and development of the legal profession in Poland since the XIX century and until today. The author of the article analyzes the legislation regulating the organization and professional activities of the Bar of Poland. The conclusion is that the last 20 years, the advocacy Poland has undergone many changes and reforms that have not always been positive for the institution, but as a whole, generally correspond to the European standards. The attention is focused to the significant changes that have occurred in the Bar of Poland.
