Annotation | The purpose of this paper is to investigate the key provisions of the founding Treaty of Lisbon as of regulation of the scientific research issues, and to analyze the results of participation of Ukraine in the Framework Programme 7 and the Programme’s funds allocation. A special focus is made on the EU’s aim to strengthen its scientific and technological advances by establishing a common European platform in order to provide free movement of researchers, scholars, scientific research findings and technologies. The current paper provides an overview of joint efforts of the EU member states, the European Parliament and the Council in the field of scientific and technical cooperation by the adoption of the multiannual Framework Programmes. The study confirms that Ukraine is an active third-country partner in the Framework Programme 7. In addition, a great deal of attention is paid to the draft of the EU Programme «Horizon-2020» and its current state of play. The article discusses the mission and priorities of the Programme and considers potential opportunity for Ukraine to establish fruitful international cooperation. |
