Annotation | The essay discusses the notion of the rule of law and its interrelation with the notion of the law-governed state, provides a short characteristics of the basic elements — requirements of the rule of law: respect for human rights and freedoms, supremacy of the constitution, separation of powers, legality, limitation of discretionary powers, legal certainty, proportionality, legal security and protection of trust, independence of the judiciary. When characterizing the above, a particular regard has been had to the analysis of the current status and prospects for establishment of the rule of law in Ukraine. |
