The author refers to the provisions of doctrinal legal theory to provide generalcharacteristics of the legal facts in family law. The basic criteria for their classification areestablished in the article. The article referred to the main stages of development of the theoryof legal facts.Author discloses the principal directions in the study of the legal facts in terms of the needsof settlement practices of public relations at the present stage of their development. The authorargues the need for coverage legal situations in which legal facts are results of consequences thatare not embodied in the relationship by the concept of legal fact. Author complements the legaldoctrine by the legal classification of the facts that leads to the acquisition, change or lossof proper legal status.
