The author researches the main legal instruments of the practical realizationof a free trade area among Ukraine and the European Union on the basis of the AssociationAgreement analysis. In particular, the folloving provisions are examined: institutional mechanism,the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation to the EU acquis, including dynamic concept forkeeping track with changes in EU legislation, advanced monitoring mechanism and the disputesettlement mechanism. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the features provided bythe Association Agreement on the legislation approximation. The autor demonstratesthe conditionality of the further liberalization of EU-Ukraine trade relations by the timeous andeffective of legislative approximation. It is shown that the abovementioned instruments shouldserve as effective means for practical development of EU-Ukraine FTA, which will ensure gradualintegration of Ukraine into the EU internal market.
