Article is dedicated to the scientific research of the role of notariate as jurisdictional body in realization of protection and defence of person’s rights and interests. Effectiveness of notariate is substantiated through the possibility to give an opportunity to save the time and protect ones rights and interests avoiding time taking court procedure, by the means of contractual regulation of legal relations. Protection and defence of civil rights and interest by notary considered to be correlated legal categories. Separate attention is dedicated to the mediation in professional occupation of notary. It is proposed to supplement classification of defence and protection means by voluntary execution of non-executed obligation in a form of notarial act. In a conclusions author proposes some fills in to Law of Ukraine «Under notariate» and Civil code of Ukraine.
