Annotation The authors study the experience of the institute of mass action in the European Union countries. General specifics of mass action as an institution designed to provide efficient and procedurally economical judicial consideration of legal conflicts involving indefinite number of persons are studied in the article. The features of the proceedings in mass action, namely: definition of a group, notification of members of a group are determined. The peculiarities of judicial consideration and settlement are outlined. The experience of the EU countries in the area is analyzed with a view to determine the optimal model of mass action for Ukraine. Proposals to improve civil procedural legislation of Ukraine are made.
