| Annotation | The provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine concerning the notion of testimony in criminal proceeding as the source of evidence, its forms, ways of verification and its specific evaluation are analyzed in the article. Attention is drawn to legislation novelties requiring scientific knowledge and interpretation. The role of testimonies of a suspect, an accused is identified in the framework of differentiation of criminal procedure form. Status of the suspect, accused who admitted his guilt is considered as a prerequisite of consensus and simplified procedures. Relation between testimonies and explanations in criminal proceedings is studied. |
