The article is devoted to the changes in social structure of modern society that have occurred over the last decade, and which may be characterized by the appearance of «new» marginal groups. The criminogenic potential of social stratification is substantiated. Processes of criminalization of certain «new» marginal groups — «post specialists» (former military personnel, law enforcement officials and former sportsmen) and in particular their participation in an organized criminal activity were analyzed.
