| Annotation | Criminal proceedings in absentia are studied in the article. Specific characteristics of this type of criminal proceedings are determined. Given the European standards of securing the right to a fair trial, as well as case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, the gaps in national procedure of criminal proceedings in absentia are identified and settlement thereof is proposed. Basic perspectives for review in extraordinary judicial proceedings of certain judgments in absentia are outlined. |
