The article investigates and compares the peculiarities and general state of affairs in the Legal Science of the United States and Ukraine. Specifically, we analyze the stages a legal scientist goes throughout his/her carrier in two countries, the financial basis of legal science, and how the differences in legal theory fundamentals result in different practical applications in the same areas of law. The author concludes that the American Law Science has certain advantages worth learning upon: it is more open and transparent, more independent and self-governed.
