| Annotation | The article provides the study of the person’s individual and psychological qualities indispensable to work as a judge. The author has analyzed the Ukrainian law currently in force as regards the moral-ethical aspect of the judge’s work and reviewed certain international experience regarding limitations on the work as a judge. The article also points out the need to improve the current legislation by requiring mandatory examination of psycho- emotional traits and introducing a mechanism of assessing moral qualities of candidates for judge and existing judges, and provides an overview of the matter of professional ethics and codification of ethical norms of the judges’ behavior in Ukraine and a number of other countries. |
