Annotation The basic construction of European law is sought with special regard to whether or not it proves to be a legal culture itself permeated by grand-system functioning. In its open system in an unending conflux of dialectics it is only some flexible and transient conjunction of all construction components that is capable of exhibiting anything of a definitive force, albeit today’s normative justification is founded on — by reference to — the system’s yesterday self-closure.
Keywords European law, national laws, legal culture, construction, functioning, codification, code substitutes, autopoiesis, self-closure, justification, substantiation.
